What is S.N.A.P. Saturday Lab?
S.N.A.P. Saturday Lab is a twice-monthly enrichment program for students in Grades 3–4. Through reading, writing, hands-on environmental science, problem-solving, and character development, students strengthen academic skills and apply learning in meaningful ways.
Why Is It Different?
Saturday Lab combines guided instruction, purposeful practice, collaboration, and reflection. Students read, write, investigate, and apply what they learn through real-world experiences. Enrollment is limited to 12 students to support meaningful engagement and individualized attention.
Inside a Saturday Lab Session
These are the components of a session rather than fixed time blocks, and character development runs through all of them.
-
Welcome and community building
Students settle in, greet each other and set the tone for the morning.
-
Literacy and discussion
Guided reading and writing, and talking it through together.
-
Hands-on science
Environmental science and hands-on activities that put the reading to work.
-
Learn & Lunch
Lunch together, with conversation that keeps the learning going.
-
Application and reflection
Students apply what they have learned, then look back at the morning and decide what they will work on next.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the Saturday Lab for?
Students in third and fourth grade.
How can I request tuition information?
Use the Request Tuition Information button, and our team will share current tuition and enrollment details.
When is tuition due?
The first month’s tuition is due during registration and reserves your child’s space. From the second month it is due on the first day of each month. If a payment is unsuccessful we will let you know and you have five calendar days to correct it; after that a $15 late fee applies.
Is an assessment or consultation required before enrolling?
No. Students complete a brief baseline activity during the first session. It is not a pass-or-fail test — it helps us understand where each student is starting from.
What if my child misses a session?
Tuition is not refunded or prorated for absences, and makeup sessions are not guaranteed.
What should my child bring?
A refillable water bottle. Lunch is provided, and we share the meal in advance. If your child has a food allergy or dietary need, please send their own food — we do not prepare separate meals.
Who is teaching?
Saturday Lab is led by Dr. Yanique L. Rolingson and qualified facilitators. Evan Tenorio and Christopher Jeremiah Holden lead the hands-on science activities. Volunteers may assist under supervision.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We notify families by email and text message and try to reschedule. If a session cannot be rescheduled, families receive a credit.
My child has a food allergy. Can you accommodate it?
Please tell us during registration. We share the meal in advance so you can decide whether it suits your child. We do not prepare separate meals, so a student with a food allergy or dietary need should bring their own food. We cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
